About

Daan Visser

Daan trained as a classical ballet dancer and graduated from the Dutch National Ballet Academy. He danced with several companies across Europe before enrolling in the comprehensive Polestar Pilates teacher training in 2019, under the guidance of senior instructor Leila Kester.

Daan’s journey with Pilates began in 2007 at the National Ballet Academy in Amsterdam, where he trained once a week on the mat and once a week on the equipment. It was a true eye-opener: the precise, detailed nature of Pilates closely supported his dance technique, helped prevent injuries, and refined his posture and deeper layers of strength.

To this day, Pilates remains an essential part of his life — now more for maintaining a pain-free, mobile body than for stage performance.

In his sessions, Daan creates a safe, calm space where you can connect with your body and stay present. His approach focuses on quality of movement, infused with creativity and curiosity.

He believes Pilates is a personal journey — one that becomes more meaningful over time. It teaches you how to move and breathe with greater awareness, and that embodied knowledge stays with you for life.

In addition to teaching private pilates classes at location Staetsgeheim, Daan currently teaches pilates mat classes to the choir of the Nationale Opera & Ballet, to the members of Soho House Amsterdam, and the employees of PVH Amsterdam (head office of Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger).
